Hope for At-Risk Children & Teens |
Over 4000 children in Orange County are part of the foster care system. Many children end up in this situation because of abuse and neglect. God has called Lighthouse volunteers to action to bring hope to hurting and
at-risk kids. Volunteers work in foster homes offering play days so children have a chance to just be kids for an afternoon and experience the joy of play. “The Walk” brings a small group experience to kids in foster homes, offering them a chance to make Jesus a forever friend. Mentoring offers volunteers the opportunity to share their life experiences with at-risk kids. Lighthouse Camps provide a weekend away from the routine of life for kids in foster care, as well as kids involved with Lighthouse Community Center and Miracles in Motion. The Adoption Ministry works with families to prepare them to adopt children and provide a safe home for them to grow up in. The Ministry Dogs support many ministries as they bring their trained therapy dogs to interact with children.
