Lighthouse Mentoring
Mentoring is the key to building bridges between the church and the underprivileged and hurting in our community. It’s an opportunity to serve and empower people in need and offer them real hope and life change through relationship and our faith in Jesus Christ.

The Lighthouse mentoring ministry currently serves foster care children, emancipated youth, single mothers, college-aged adults and motel families. While we serve many different populations, they all have a common need for caring adults to model healthy relationships, be a voice of encouragement and to share the love of God. A mentor’s role is to serve as a friend, supporter, encourager as well as teammate. Most of the people that we serve through the mentoring ministry have never experienced a healthy relationship, a supportive network or had someone come along side to celebrate in their triumphs or lend a hand during their challenges. A mentoring relationship can bridge isolation, break down barriers and offer healing by introducing God’s love to them.

Within the Mentoring ministry there is a network of mentor coaches that support each of the mentors. This includes training to help better equip and understand the mentoring role, planned events to assist in relationship building, resources to aid in providing solutions, and supervision to guide, encourage and affirm the efforts of our mentors.
