One Thirty-Nine is a ministry that reaches out to teens and women facing an unplanned pregnancy, encouraging them to choose the gift of life for their unborn baby, and supporting them in this courageous decision.

It takes its name from Psalm 139:13-16
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

We have chosen to partner with organizations in the community that are providing the shelter, education and support needed to prepare these women for their new role as a mother. We come along side them and bring the love of Christ through casual interaction with the women through an array of activities. We lift them up for their birthdays, we celebrate the birth of their children, we congratulate them on completing their education or job training, we lead them in bible study. We are extended family…loving them and encouraging them.

There are many different opportunities to serve with 139 and as such, a new volunteer orientation is required within the first three months of serving. An application form must also be on file before attending any events.
